Hyperthreading hurts 5.3?
I haven't found it a problem to leave them enabled or disabled to be honest, but as Paulo says, it's very easy to disable on-board audio in the board's BIOS. This board supports the new hyper threading chips too - if I should ever get round to fitting one when the prices are more reasonable.

When hyperthreading is disabled the motherboard works properly. But with hyperthreading enabled, the computer hard crashes (not even a BSOD).
